About Us

Dolce – Latte, Drunk & Blue, Parmesan, Fontina and Biltong Feta are some of the names bandied
about around our cheese display fridge by eager customers
waiting to make an acquisition for their after dinner cheese
platters. Some times they buy Brie for lunch and eat it
like a chocolate bar. Adventurous cheese lovers are
constantly sampling a new cheese variety in our TASTE
FRIENDLY shop.

We have our own factory next
to the Cheese Shop where we manufacture the Greek yoghurt
along with a number of cheeses.
Our most popular varieties being a traditional
Plain Gouda, Cumin, Mixed Herb and Chilli
Gouda. We also make Feta, Haloumi and
Kefalotyri in Greek island style using both cow’s and goat’s
milk. The most authentic South African cheese on offer is a
Biltong Feta which is just as suitable in a “Greek salad” as it
is on a savoury biscuit.
In order to keep
our products as natural as possible we do not add any
preservatives or artificial additives. |

Apart from being a cheese shop we are a farm
style deli with cold meats, olives, olive oils, as well as
interesting savouries to compliment our cheeses. We also stock
home made jams, farm butter and on Saturdays, home baked bread.
For the carnivores there is a choice between eisbein, pork neck,
spare ribs, and prime cut bacon. The tastiest Cheddar and Sweet
milk cheeses are always on special for the daily cheese consumer.
As founders of the Cheese Shop, we (Costa &
Rita) are passionate about cheese. We strive towards giving our
customers a TOTAL CHEESE EXPERIENCE that encompasses learning
about cheese, tasting cheese, and excellent, friendly
customer service.
